Getting Started

AuditorTax is a compliance-critical payroll and statutory compliance platform for Indian businesses and Chartered Accountants.

AuditorTax is a payroll compliance system for Indian businesses. An employer — a company, factory, or business establishment — is set up in the system, its employees are added to it, and payroll is processed for those employees each period. Along the way, AuditorTax handles the statutory side of payroll: EPF, ESI, and Professional Tax registrations and filings, and the challan payments that go with them.

Once a payroll run is finalized, it’s locked — this is a hard guarantee of the system, not an optional setting, since a payroll record that could be quietly edited after the fact isn’t something an auditor or a statutory authority can rely on. The same “nothing quietly changes after the fact” principle shows up elsewhere too: an Audit Logs section (in the sidebar) records who changed what, and statutory rules are versioned — so a change to, say, the EPF wage ceiling doesn’t rewrite how an old payroll period was calculated; the rule that was in force at the time still applies to that period’s records.

Two kinds of accounts use AuditorTax, and the interface is the same for both: a Chartered Accountant managing payroll for several client companies from one login (switching between them), and a business running payroll for its own single employer, with no switching needed. The sidebar reflects this — every screen for Employees, Payroll, Attendance, and Challan Payments is scoped to whichever employer you currently have selected.

The left sidebar is organized around that one-employer-at-a-time structure. What’s in it, top to bottom:

  • Dashboard — the overview covered below.
  • Employers — the list of establishments on your account, and where you register a new one.
  • Employees — everyone employed by the currently selected employer: personal details, statutory IDs, salary, and documents.
  • Payroll — a group of related screens: Payroll Runs (processing pay for a period), Salary Structures and Components (how pay is built up — Basic, HRA, and so on), Employee Groups, Bonus Cycles, and One Time Pay.
  • Attendance — daily attendance and loss-of-pay tracking, which feeds into payroll.
  • Billing — Challans (EPFO/ESIC/PT statutory payments) and Invoices.
  • GST — a separate Billing area for GST-compliant invoicing, distinct from statutory payroll challans.
  • Audit Logs — the change history mentioned above.
  • Compliance Report — a report view across an employer’s statutory standing.
  • Subscription and Settings — your account’s plan (this account shows an “Enterprise” tier) and system configuration.
  • Chartered Accountants managing payroll compliance for 10–50 client companies
  • Mid-sized manufacturers with 100–500 employees across one or more states
