Bank Statement to Excel & Tally XML
Turn a net-banking statement into Excel and ready-to-import Tally vouchers. Set simple narration rules for ledgers, and every row that shows a balance is checked against the statement's running balance.
Free, no login. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type or upload is sent to our servers.
Text PDFs downloaded from net banking. Scanned statements are not supported.
A computational aid, not professional advice. Check results against the governing law, notifications and your own judgement before relying on them.
How it works
- Read: the PDF's text or the spreadsheet is read in your browser. Wrapped narrations are joined back into one line.
- Check: each row's balance is recomputed from the previous one; rows that fail are marked, and the export warns how many failed or had no balance to check. A statement listed newest-first is put in date order.
- Classify: your narration rules pick the ledger; cash moves become Contra; the rest go to suspense.
- Export: an Excel file of the transactions, and a Tally XML of Payment, Receipt and Contra vouchers against your bank ledger.

Frequently asked questions
Which bank statements does this convert?
Any text PDF downloaded from net banking whose table has Date, Narration, Withdrawal/Deposit and Balance columns, or an Excel/CSV statement from any bank. It does not use per-bank templates: it finds the columns from the statement’s own header.
How do I know it read my statement correctly?
Every row is checked against the statement’s running balance: the previous balance minus the withdrawal plus the deposit must equal the balance shown. Rows that do not follow are marked, and a warning next to the Tally XML download says how many rows failed the check or could not be checked (where the statement shows no balance), so you can review them before importing. The check catches misread amounts; it cannot tell whether a correctly read row went to the right ledger.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
Yes. Enter the password when asked. It is used only in your browser to open the file and is never sent anywhere.
How do ledgers get assigned?
Add rules such as “narration contains ACME → Acme Traders”. The first matching rule wins. ATM withdrawals and cash deposits become Contra entries against Cash, and anything unmatched goes to a suspense ledger you can clear later. Your rules are remembered in this browser.
Are scanned statements supported?
No. A scanned PDF is an image with no text to read. Download a text PDF or an Excel/CSV statement from net banking instead.
